3. Collection and Storage of Personal Data
a) When Visiting the Website
When accessing our website, information is automatically collected by the server that your browser transmits. These are:
- IP address
- Date and time of access
- Name and URL of the retrieved file
- Website from which access is made (referrer URL)
- Browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your device
This data is processed to ensure a smooth connection setup, the stability and security of the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a technically faultless presentation of our website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). A merger of this data with other data sources does not take place. Server log data is generally deleted after 30 days at the latest.
b) Contact Form and Email Contact
If you send us inquiries via the contact form or email, your details from the inquiry form or your email, including the contact details you provided there, will be stored in order to process your inquiry. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
The legal basis for processing is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR) and, where your request aims at concluding a contract, the initiation or performance of that contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
To send and deliver these emails, we use the service provider Resend (Resend, Inc., USA) as a processor. We store your inquiry until it has been fully processed and subsequently in accordance with statutory retention obligations; you may request deletion at any time insofar as no such obligations conflict.
4. Hosting (Vercel)
Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA. When you visit the website, Vercel automatically processes the server log data described above on our behalf as a processor. A data processing agreement (DPA) is in place. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and efficient provision of our website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Data transfers to the USA are safeguarded by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or EU standard contractual clauses.
5. Web Analytics (Vercel Web Analytics)
Subject to your consent, we use Vercel Web Analytics to statistically analyze visits to our website. This service works without cookies and without storing information on your device; it does not create cross-site user profiles and uses no persistent identifiers. The data collected is aggregated and anonymous. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time with future effect via the "Cookie Settings" in the footer. Analytics is only loaded after you have given consent.
6. Spam and Bot Protection (Vercel BotID)
To protect our contact form against automated misuse (spam, bots), we use Vercel BotID. In this context, technical device and interaction signals are evaluated to distinguish human visitors from bots. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting our systems and preventing misuse (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
7. Cookies and Local Storage
We only use technically necessary cookies and local storage entries required for the operation of the website and to store your cookie preferences. These do not require consent. Optional analytics (see section 5) are cookieless and are only activated with your consent. You can manage your choice at any time via the "Cookie Settings" in the footer.
8. Disclosure of Data and Transfer to Third Countries
Your personal data will only be transferred to third parties if:
- You have given your express consent,
- the processing is necessary for the execution of a contract with you,
- the processing is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation.
Some of the processors we use (e.g. Vercel, Resend) are based in the USA. Where data is transferred there, this is safeguarded by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 44 et seq. GDPR).
9. Storage Duration
We store personal data only for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as required by statutory retention periods. Afterwards, the data is deleted or anonymized.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Receive information about your stored personal data (Art. 15 GDPR),
- request the correction of incorrect data or the deletion of your data (Art. 16, 17 GDPR),

- object to the processing of your data (Art. 21 GDPR),
- receive your data in a common format (data portability, Art. 20 GDPR),
- withdraw consent you have given at any time with future effect (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).
To assert your rights, you can contact the responsible body mentioned above at any time.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.
11. Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against manipulation, loss, or unauthorized access. All data is transmitted in encrypted form via TLS/HTTPS.
